Hi!

I have been teaching Vinyasa Yoga since 2017, and practicing yoga for many years prior.

I am also callisthenics trained and, being hypermobile myself, specialise in managing Hypermobility, creating The Hypermobile Method® (more below).

Yoga means union, so practice has to focus on bringing all parts of us into alignment - head, heart, body, soul … and from a physical perspective we connect and ensure breath, muscle, connective tissue, bones, organs, nervous system etc all work together. Also, building a balanced practice, creating strength in range, so we open and activate is key to alignment.

And, it really is all about you - your body and needs differ from the next person so I help you know what’s right for your body. Learning to tune into to what you need and being able to give it is immensely empowering and what yoga is really all about… deep self connection.

I have taught large events, community classes with lululemon and Sweaty Betty, and run a regular class open to all abilities every Sunday morning.

Come and try a class, I always say that yoga is all about finding the right teacher who resonates with you…

testimonials

“I practice yoga religiously the last 3 years I have attend plenty of classes and I can assure you that Nicola's Yoga class is not your average vinyasa flow. It is an hour you are offering to yourself for yourself. The flow works as a treat mentally and physically. Her classes welcome all levels. As a beginner you will go with the flow and if you are advanced you will be working your progressions and inversions, if you feel like it of course. You will close the class with a delicious savasana followed by a unique guided meditation/motivation. You will leave the class feeling ecstatically happy, complete and grounded. Highly recommended!!”

“Best yoga class + teacher in London”

“Nicola is my ideal when it comes to yoga. It’s her spirituality that sets her apart from other instructors. Every Sunday I have a session with her and she resets me for the rest of the week. I feel so positive and strong after each class ready to conquer the challenges of life! Yoga is not about posing but about showing the path to balance and this is exactly what Nicola does. Her approach is holistic and special. A real treat you have to try and will surely get obsessed with”

Hypermobility doesn’t need to be debilitating. Know your body and how to manage it.

Hypermobility is not just being ‘double jointed’ but for most is a hereditary genetic issue affecting the collagen in your body. Connective tissue is usually where it’s most obvious, but skin, digestive tract, heart and vascular system can all be affected depending on your type.

Fatigue, ‘stressed’ heart rate, and troublesome digestion can all accompany ‘weak’ joints and being ‘super bendy’!

Most remain bewildered at no one being able to pin point what is wrong with them and get frustrated at not being able to ‘keep up’, or do all they want to…

You will also have accompanying mental, emotional, relational and behavioural traits that accompany this…

I spent years going from doctor to doctor, PT to physio not getting helpful answers and in many cases making things worse! I learnt the hard way through much experience and a lot of academic learning, pouring through medical text books and exploring many avenues of inquiry.

I was even told not to do yoga, but that came from voices with lack of skill and knowledge - yoga and meditation couldn’t be more of use to this chronic and common condition!

The Hypermobile Method draws on many disciplines to give you the range of tools you needed for this, so you can explore and find a way that works for you.

Let’s help you regain control and look after yourself!
